Coachella

With Coachella coming to an end, it's time to wrap up our favorite performances of this year. As everyone sure knows, Coachella took place in Indio, California, for two consecutive weekends, with performances from artists such as Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Doja Cat, to Kanye, Lil Baby, and Baby Keem, and not to mention, Girl in Red, Wallows and Brockhampton. Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is a truly iconic and popular event that has been cultivated over years. There are way too many performances to talk about in this issue but there will be a focus on a few favorite and underrated performances.

Harry Styles

After releasing his single “As it was” from his upcoming album Harry’s House, Styles takes to the stage to open his performance with the new release, and the crowd was anything but disappointed. During both weekends he also performed further of his new songs including “Boyfriends” and “Late Night Talking”. Everything from his outfit, to his crowd interaction, to his energy, and the HARMONIES with the band made his performance truly incredible. The band and the songs live were beautiful to listen to. Now about his collabs. Oh to be Shania Twain? I know a few of us were thinking that when we watched the unexpected duo sing to Shania Twain's song “Man! I feel like a Woman!”. Weekend two was even more of a blast to watch. Harry’s guest this time was his dear friend Lizzo, whereas they duetted with the songs “I Will Survive” and One Direction’s hit song “What makes you beautiful”. To say the least, Harry did not disappoint as a headliner for Coachella.

The Weeknd

Now, this was a performance to love. The Weeknd never holds back in a performance. He sang a handful of his relatively new songs from the album DawnFM, as well as his verse from Kanye's Award-winning song “Hurricane” and his top Billboard song “Blinding Lights”. The Weeknd was joined on stage with Swedish House Mafia and their sets were hype-packed, with the energy being reciprocated by the audience. His transition from his verse from Hurricane to The Hills was truly beautiful. Abel’s constant interaction with the crowd, and his outfits and the lighting heightened the experience for the audience. Besides, I know you guys saw the girl the Weeknd was singing toward in the audience during “Or Nah”, and it's fine, everyone wished to be her in that moment.

BROCKHAMPTON

This was truly an underrated performance. Although they did not have a big stage and large flashy lights, they did deliver to their fandom with their incredible top hits. This was BROCKHAMPTON’s last performance before their indefinite hiatus and you best believe that the crowd reciprocated the energy that they were given. The boys were spotted wearing matching varsity jackets with the quote “All Good Thing Must Come to an End” embroidered on the back, something to truly make the fans emotional. Their setlist included “District” of their 2018 album, their single with ASAP Rocky “Bankroll” as well as“Iridescent”. Although it was their last performance they did not hold back. For the last song they played their hit “BOOGIE” which left the crowd jumping. They bowed to say their thanks and appreciation, and proceeded to leave. A sweet, sad goodbye and even though they are splitting they announced an upcoming album at the end of the year.
