Sweden had an incredible run in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Their 8 gold medals and 18 medals in total have made these winter olympics their most successful in history. They won their golds in the sports of curling, freestyle skiing, biathlon, speed skating, cross.country skiing, and alpine skiing.
They also set a few historic records during this year’s winter games. They have been the first country to win medals in all three curling events; men’s tournament, mixed doubles, and women's tournament. Nils van der Poel also set two records in speed skating, getting the fastest time in men’s 5,000 meter and the fastest time in men’s 10,000 meter. During these Winter Olympics, Sweden shocked the world with a marvelous and record-setting performance which will be remembered.
