As you know, now is the perfect time to create the NBA fantasy league, but who does one pick? All stars from last season or promising young stars? This short piece will help guide you into creating a 82-0 fantasy league
Starting from the all stars last year, Luka, Giannis & Jokic are all clear favourites for a reason. The two centres are in their prime, and aren’t planning on getting worse. Luka however is a young star, and though his performance is extraordinarily good, his team is extraordinarily bad! This puts Luka at risk for performing worse, as teammates unable to score and pass limits Luka’s scoring and assisting attributes. This opens the door to the other stars in lower-end teams, ranging from De'aaron fox to John Wall to Paul Geroge, and how risky it is.
There are the safe bets, which will not perform extraordinary, but rather at their current level, such as Lebron “the goat” James, Curry and Durant. But these aren’t the only stars, as Ja morant’s performance last season ranks him as a top 10 player in the fantasy league. Although this does put pressure on his performance, as last season could very well have been a fluke.

A special player, with far more benefits would be none other than Zion Williamson. Spending last year injured, Zion’s expectation is far lower than when he entered the NBA as a rookie, which is the best advantage. Zion will no doubt average 20+ points, high rebounds and high assist, on top of his unstoppable steals from the 7-footers. Zion, with the help of pelicans, will perform better than anyone, and will be the star in the league.
There are a couple others to look out for, such as Ben Simmons and Kawahi Leonard, as these are amazing players, but inconsistent. They can range from a bench player to the best in the world, but for different reasons. Simmons is possibly the only stop for Giannis, but his 3-pt shooting is worse than Shaq’s. This puts Simmons as a wild card, either leading the team to a championship, or ensuring that the team will be worse than the Pacers. Kawhi is a freak of nature when he plays, stopping every player at every position despite only being 6’6, going on the offensive not missing mid rangers or finishes, all while not smiling. However, Kawhi simply does not play when he does not wish to, so picking him involves a massive risk.
